Interview with mentor Andreas Pott
Why have you committed yourself as mentor? From your perspective, what makes STARBUZZ special?
As long-established and family-owned business headquartered in Westphalia we are direct neighbors of STARBUZZ. Having STARBUZZ in our region, is an interesting opportunity for FIEGE – not only due to our spatial proximity but also in terms of a commitment to support startups in the region.
We already are involved in an international accelerator program with startups from all over the world and have gotten valuable impulses. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with STARBUZZ, the other corporate partners and the first batch of startups.
How can you support startups in your role as mentor? How will FIEGE support startups as partnering company of STARBUZZ?
At FIEGE, we already have a lot of experience in cooperating with startups and supporting them in their business development. We can look back on several successful projects of collaboration and co-creation. We see ourselves as partner who can help entrepreneurs to take their startup to the next growth level.
This is exactly where our strength at FIEGE lies in: As medium-sized family-owned business we are very agile and can make many things possible. We provide startups with the opportunity to test and pilot their ideas with one of the largest logistics service providers in Europe.
As mentor, I will advise and guide startups on their way from idea to implementation in a real setting.
Why would you advise startups to apply for STARBUZZ?
The exchange of expertise and support of an agile corporate partner are invaluable in the phase of starting up. Mentoring and networking are important for transforming a good idea into a solid business model.
What do you expect from startups that apply to STARBUZZ?
I hope to get inspired by startups. At FIEGE we permanently challenge our own processes and efficiency. Startups often employ unconventional approaches that are of high interest to us as corporate partner. We are always open for new ideas and lateral thinking. We have the aspiration to be close to the hotspots where new ideas are developed and future solutions are created.
